Vahe Keushguerian | Guest speaker from Armenia
Born in Homs, Syria in the late 50’s, Vahe Keushguerian grew up in Beirut, Lebanon. After receiving a degree in EE at the University of La Verne, he moved to San
Francisco, met his wife and in1985 started a restaurant in Berkeley, where he further developed his interest in wine and food. After living 10 years in the Bay area, he moved to Tuscany, Italy in the summer of 1994. There he established wineries in both Tuscany and Puglia.
In 2009, he decided it was time to explore Armenia. He got involved in the wine industry and was instrumental in developing some of the well-known wine brands in Armenia.
In 2012 he founded WineWorks, which is a winery incubation services that has incubated over 10 new wine brands.
Concurrently, he co-founded the EVN Wine Academy, which offers a professional 18-month certificate program in Enology and Wine Business.
In 2015, he co-founded Impact Hub Yerevan (IHY), and now serves as chairman of the board. IHY is a social innovation space and community that supports social impact projects and enterprises. More than just a workspace, Impact Hub Yerevan houses a community of like-minded change-makers and provides them with networking opportunities, resources, and programs and events to help boost their impact. IHY is part of a global network of 100+ Hubs around the world.
In 2017, Vahe co-founded EVN Report and serves as chairman of the board. EVN report is an independent, non-profit online weekly magazine. It offers a mix of reporting, analysis, and commentary on politics, economy, culture, tech and innovation, the arts, as well as compelling narratives, podcasts, and multimedia storytelling.
